Brighton and Hove Albion and their Premier League rivals resume their campaigns on Boxing Day following the World Cup – but how would their league positions differ without VAR?

Brighton are currently seventh in the top flight and restart at Southampton on December 26. Albion then welcome Premier League leaders Arsenal to the Amex Stadium on December 31 and complete their festive schedule on January 3 at Everton.

There have been 48 VAR interventions during the current season, with 42 correct and six deemed incorrect by the Key Match Incident panel.

The panel this week concluded there had been six missed VAR interventions during the first 16 match rounds – 160 matches.
