Crews tackle fire at Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath

Two fire engines were sent to the hospital in Lewes Road shortly after 8.40am.
A spokesman for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said: “We were called to reports of a small fire in a kitchen on the second floor of the Princess Royal Hospital.

Hide Ad“Two crews from Haywards Heath Fire Station were mobilised to the scene along with two from Burgess Hill, as well as a crew and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Brighton.
“The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus who used one high pressure hose reel.
“All persons were accounted for.
“Crews remain at the scene of this incident ventilating the area with a positive ventilation fan.”
